This year was a down year for the Classic (unfortunate that it was also our 25th Anniversary) in having some of the traditional powers in attendance. Why that was we don't know, but this year for the first time we did a no finals style competition for a couple of reasons: 1) It fit with the collection of schools that were attending. 2) It provided a good opportunity to evaluate the economics of finals vs. no finals.
As many of you understand running a competition the size of the Classic (up to 50 choirs some years) takes a lot of great volunteers and represents almost a 24 hour effort the day of the show. With going to a "one and done" style competition it provides a lot less stress on volunteer efforts, but as we evaluate does it also mean a reduction in income for the Performing Arts Dept.
We will be back next year with a bigger, better, and very fun Classic next year.
Yeah We (Kokomo Karisma Singers) Won First Place, New Prairie won second and Anderson prep was last, there were a lot of large mixed choirs that went into festival, and LC hasn't had finals at their comp. since my freshman year which was 2010 season.
Action Photos Indy to save the day. No results but I can at least list the attending schools.
MIXED:
Anderson Prep Academy The Collective
Bluffton Musical Entourage
Center Grove Surround Sound
Kokomo Karisma
Monrovia Shooting Stars
New Prairie Innovation
Roncalli Rebel Rhapsody
Ross HS Rhythm and Motion
Shelbyville Synergy

SINGLE-GENDER:
Anderson Prep Academy Bel Canto
Center Grove The Accents
Kokomo Choraliers
New Prairie Sing Sensation
MIDDLE SCHOOL:

No groups posted. No one asked. I haven't heard a thing about it until today. I heard some crazy stuff like they didn't have enough groups for finals or something and Center Grove was there and left because of the finals situation? I dunno. All hearsay but this one is still strange.
