And why so many instrumental awards? The "everyone is a winner so we have to make an award for everything" mentality is not good. Judge each band as one unit please. Are there going to be awards for best soprano, alto, tenor, and bass sections too?
Clearly you haven't been to any FAME events.... They have an obnoxious amount of awards.
Congratulations to all of the performers and directors from the 20 show choirs in attendance.
Music, friendship, dance, laughter and professionalism filled our hallways and our stage.
Bravo!
A very special thanks to my wonderful students and parents! The tradition lives on!

While that would probably make the individual sections try harder...haha. The answer is that we give out the awards simply because we feel that a good band is a must for a great choir, and they should be recognized above and beyond just a "best combo" award. Plus, that is the way we have been doing it for 36 years Congrats to everyone who participated today! Everyone was amazing!
