Out of curiosity, does anyone have information on Howard HS? It doesn't appear that we have them listed as attending any events previously. I believe I put this event together prior to Mitchell's Show Choir Classic and I assumed they would be attending that event as it's nearby. However, since they apparently didn't I'm just curious how they qualified for this state contest? Or did we miss any smaller South Dakota show choir events this season?
How are the schools selected?
Aside from the paperwork and meeting the registration deadlines, the SDHSAA show choir handbook lists eligibility for the state contest as attending one SDHSAA sanctioned event for Tier II, and two SDHSAA sanctioned events for Tier I. Other than that while single-gender choirs are allowed to compete, it strictly explains that a school is limited to one entry.
The schedule is posted for South Dakota's inaugural state show choir championship. The two divisions are determined by school size with Tier I being the larger schools and Tier II being the smaller schools. Awards are scheduled for 5:15 PM.
