Three of the soloists in Central's show this year, were soloists last year. The blond girl who sings the opener does not sing the ballad solo. However, she did sing the opener solo last year, as did the girl who sang the ballad solo. Their names are Rachel Flesburg (opener) and Kelsey VandenBerg (ballad).
Yah I think that is what he meant.... but I don't really understand why that was a critique of your show... Maybe it was just a simple observation. That is kind of weird though, but nothing to complain about.
Total points were:
1) Central 1,373.5
2) Jefferson 1,340
3) Waukee 1,338.5
CR Jefferson WSD-Congrats on the placing. One thing I was impressed with was how well you utilize the huge extra risers (I think it would me more effective if they were black though). The choreo and vocals where very clean. I really enjoyed the ballad even though I heard it a few more times during the day. Great Job.
Waukee-My first time seeing a Waukee group for 2 years and I really enjoyed it. I was a big fan of the choreography and the arrangments of the songs. You guys really put your heart on the stage and I enjoyed that.
Central-Way to represent. I was DYING when susan boyle came out on stage. Loved the Facebook song...really original and looks like you guys put a lot of work into that one. One thing I noticed is that the soloists were semi-reminicsent (sp? grammar check?) of last year. Blonde girl in the opener, same girl in the ballad (right?), and Brianna towards the end? Just interesting, great soloists though. Congrats guys.
Manteno-Your choreo was soooooooo clean, if you guys had a little more vocal power your show would have been simply awesome. great job though and congrats on making finals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Waukee-Definetly one amazing prep group, tons of energy and spunk. great job.
Ovation-Great Job! The shoe shine? song was really fun.
Davenport North-such a bigger group this year. I know you guys were probably pooped but your show was still solid! I can't wait to see what happens when you guys clean up and get so vocal power! I love 96000!

Hmm. Interesting - didn't Tara Tober co-write the Facebook song in Central's show? Doesn't seem quite right that she would be a scoring judge in the finals.
Thanks to all of the groups who came to the Big Dance. Congrats to Central for their first GC at the Big Dance and thanks for all of our volunteers who helped us with this huge undertaking. If anyone has any comments on how we can continue to improve please let me know.
