I got to see the initial schedule on Thursday. It's going to be a really good competition. Especially in the 4A division, there are some familiar faces and some brand new ones. All told, there are 42 choirs coming at the moment. That's a bit smaller than the 50+ of the last few years, but the middle school (the primary competition venue) is under renovation, so there is a lot less space to work with, which means fewer choirs got accepted. To the great fortune of the audience members, though, the former library (immediately east of the auditorium entrance) is now a shiny new cafeteria! No more trekking two-thirds of the way through the building and down odd hallways in order to find the old cafeteria...

Schedules should be mailed out early this week, for whoever is wondering. You'll have it before you go on Christmas break.

Bloomington Jefferson will be there! It'll be the first one this year for us. Only a little over a month left!

Well, I assume Urbandale will be attending Johnston, since they have been FOREVER!!!! (at least 2002?? i can't remember before then).

Otherwise, I'm not really sure who has been attending Johnston constantly?

We've been to every Johnston competition since its inception. I'm pretty sure Johnston is one of two groups that have also attended every single Urbandale competition since we started ours back in the early 80's.

Who all will be competing at the Johnston "Showzam" on the 20th? No one seems to be talking about it, so... let's start!
