IDK I have heard Carmel has had it rough the last couple of moths. Cause Ron Morgen was in the hospital. One of the Ambassadors told my friend they didn't learn their comp choreo till last week! and Ron is still in the hospital (Last I heard). But we'll see if they can pull themselves out of this! With the talent that they usually have, I would think it wont be too hard. Def looking forward to seeing their show this year!
Ron Morgan is doing fine and has been for weeks. He's teaching at absolute full strength and is doing great.

As we have mentioned several times around here, you can do so in every browser except Internet Explorer.
This will be a great competition; any chance of a live feed going up? I'd love to see some Indiana show choir.

Guess I've never made a typo here before today Thanks for answer!

Sorry, no live feed this year.

Of course, that was meant to read "a chance to slip into...".

Wish you could make edits to posts.

I believe the finals are back up to 5. This was confirmed in an email from the director this past week!

- Mr. A

Mr. A is correct. Mixed Finals is now set at 5 participants. I'll get the event website updated shortly. http://lcclassic.com

As a note, I've seen Shelbyville, Pike, Warren Central, Zionsville and Center Grove, and this will be a great show on Saturday. I hope my duties will allow me a change to slip into the auditorium some during the afternoon preliminaries. Seven of these schools will also bring women's groups for preliminaries in the morning.

Also, we've got SIXTEEN choirs competing in our Festival class with great up-and-coming programs. I thought the Woodlan, New Palestine and Roncalli shows were great entertainment yesterday at Center Grove. We've got two schools from Kentucky joining us (the Shelby County show last year was much fun), plus some new programs from a few schools with great potential.

We've added another venue geared specifically for the concert choirs and last year's grand champion from Heritage Christian is returning. And we've got 39 soloists competing as well.

Come see us on Saturday and consider purchasing the $15 all-day ticket to have access to all four daytime venues AND access to the finals in the evening.

my uncle is one of Carmels choreographers as well as a judge for some competitions and he has said that Center Grove is MUCH better than Carmel this year. so based on that i am seeing Center Grove beating carmel. carmel will be next, followed by pike and Zionsville. and while that may seem biased to put zionsville in there they are so much better this year because of a complete change in leadership. this will definitely be an interesting comp!

I can see CG winning over carmel, but I can't see Marysville not making finals. I don't know the last time they missed finals. So I'm going to have to say (with only 4 mixed finalists):

GC: CG
1 RU: Carmel
2 RU: Pike/Marysville
3 RU: Pike/Marysville

Edit: I forgot Marysville was competing here.

Yeah, a lot of good choirs are going to go home unhappy. It's going to be a great and very interesting competition.

Tossing my predictions in as well!

1st: Carmel
2nd: Center Grove
3rd: Marysville
4th: Pike
5th: Warren Central

Visuals: Carmel
Vocals: Carmel

This is my completely un-bias opinion. I still have many contacts at Warren. They had a rough time last year. Last second director change... choreographer issues... loss of an amazing Warren staff member who helped them out a lot... too many speech team conflicts to count... Those distractions shouldn't be a problem this year.

This is going to be a great competition. Can't wait!!

Ron Morgan is no longer in the hospital and he hasn't been for weeks now. Ron also choreographs the mixed and girls at LC and he's been in rehearsal with them for about 4 weeks now.

Thank you for the update! We were all very concerned for Ron at ZSI since we have worked with him a lot in the past. Glad to know he's back on his feet

I could definitely see them winning, because they are easily one of the best if not THE BEST sounding group in the nation, but if they win best choreography I will not be happy with that...i think this competition is going to be amazing!!! I hope that I will be able to make it

That's an interesting opinion. Carmel is one of the most visually sound groups in the nation as well. Other than the great stylistic choices and execution as it relates to whatever music they are doing that year, they also boast very good dance technique. Usually if Carmel wins a GC, they are taking the visuals caption as well. It might be a personal preference for you, but Carmel's choreography and overall visual presentation is very well-received in Indiana.

I would agree with this but Pike did REALLY REALLY well last year, and if their show is anything like last year's then they should make finals over Zionsville and Warren Central.

I concur, Julio! Pike really had an outstanding season in 2009. They showed alot of improvement and from what I hear are on that same track for 2010. Classic at LC should be very interesting!

WOW!!!

I'd have to go with:

Carmel
CG
Marysville
Warren Central
Zionsville
