It's going to be a close match-up, but I think with Olentangy's great season, they are going to pull off an upset. Marysville has had a great season, but hasnt been up against serious competition yet. We'll see Saturday what they are really about. Good Luck to all the choirs!
I cannot wait for this competition. Teays Valley hosts a great competition and the people are extremely nice and supportive. I cant wait to finally check out Teays doing "Renegade"
Has anyone seen Olentangy this year? They are awesome. They did beat Fairfield. I think it will be close but I think they could win best everything minus band because of Findlay.
After Olentangy winning against Fairfield I think they have proven they are one of the best in Ohio, I think a win here and I personally think they are the best. Olentangy is one of the most underrated groups. Findlay and Marysville both have GREAT chances of winning... it's gonna be a close one.
Yeah it's really tough for Teays Valley, Findlay, and Medina to go anywhere in the state of Ohio without the posibility of Mr. Crandall, Mr. Smith, and Mr Bianchi (However you spell his name). I know both Teays and Medina where judged by their former directors at Garfield Heights. I don't think it's that big of a deal. Those three are some of the most qualified judges if not the most qualified in the entire state of Ohio. I don't think either of these groups should avoid competitions in Ohio because of the possibility that their former director will be there nor should those three men avoid judging because their former groups will be there. If anything I think they would be harder on their own group because they are so fimilar with the style they know exactly where to look to find the most trouble.
I definitely agree with you Aaron. But in show choir there are so many ties to so many different people and groups, I don't see as much of a problem with it. People who were once in a show choir, and now judge competitions could be just as biased for their old programs too. It could also totally work against you if you had burnt bridges somewhere, someone could totally screw you over and pretend to just be judging fairly, you know. But I agree that it is somewhat shady, but what isn't somewhat shady in show choir sometimes
i know similar issues have been brought up in other competition topics with argumentative results, but i still think it should be noted that J.D. Smith judging Findlay is a bit shady ethically.
