I called FAME, according to them, 12 mixed show choirs including Center Grove, Mudelein, Bemidji, Zionsville, Spain Park, Winfield, and I cant recall all the rest she named them off so fast. Also 6 Single-Gender groups and then I guess they have Concert choirs and even some bands on that friday. Who knew they did bands too! well best of luck to all groups as they head into the competition season!!! yay!!

I really don't think that you could call Showstoppers "showfloppers" especially when you compare last years finals lineups. I think the Showstoppers finals lineup was arguably better, from top to bottom, than Fame Orlando. How could you call it "showfloppers" with a finals lineup of Center Grove, Omaha Westside, Urbandale, Buffalo Grove, and Eisenhower.

I suppose you could make the argument that their participation numbers paled in comparison- after all, the "finals" line-up last year was identical to the preliminary line-up. There was a ton of quality in a small package at Showstoppers, but the quality was pretty high at FAME as well- and their numbers overall were higher. You could go into direct comparison of the finalists at each competition and figure out who would come out on top, but that'd probably be entering into fiasco-territory.

I heard the list of participants for this year's Showstoppers a month or so ago, and their numbers are definitely back up. But to sort-of answer your question Sparky, when I heard the list, Center Grove was not on it.

I've said it for years now.... showstoppers should be renamed showFLOPPERS. Where are all the powerhouses that used to come here to compete? Nothing against the all star arts choir or bishop dwenger in their second year, they may be very good but where are all the big dogs? I heard even Center grove is going over to FAME this year. IS that true? anyone know?

That is true.

The ARTS All-Star Show Choir - a new community-based choir from Huntington, West Virginia - will be attending, and we are very excited to be competing in a national competition in our first competitive season. If there are any other competitions we would be permitted to compete in, please message or email me. We have an amazing bunch of talented kids, and I'm so glad they are getting this opportunity (as most of their schools don't have show choirs at all). Good luck to everyone and watch for us throughout the season (we're trying to get our name out there.. haha). I can't describe the excitement circulating about this. We're looking forward to meeting you all in Orlando... Good luck with your seasons!!
