As a former show choir member and graduate of Ravenswood High School herself, Renee has twenty years of teaching and directing experience in Florida, Virginia, and West Virginia public schools. She received her bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from The Baptist College of Florida and has completed studies in Music Education from Boston University; she is currently completing further studies in Vocal Performance from Marshall University. Being a coloratura soprano soloist, she has performed with the Northwest Florida Symphony Chorus, Virginia Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and the West Virginia Symphony Chorus. During her time in Florida public schools, she was honored as “Teacher of the Year” and taught General Music, Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Strings, Concert Chorus, and Youth Show Choir, earning superior ratings with the Florida Bandmasters Association. Her choirs were featured in the historic Chatauqua Assemblies held in Defuniak Springs, Florida. In addition, Renee organized and facilitated the district-wide event "FULL SCORE, Spring Showcase for the Arts,” which takes place yearly in Walton County, Florida. Always following her passion for teaching music, Renee has returned to her high school alma mater, Ravenswood High School, to lead Rave Revue as well as bring up the next generation of show choir performers at Ravenswood Middle School.
