Mr. Kirk Douglas has had the privilege of working with the amazing Boulder Creek High School Students for the past several years. He earned his degree at Ottawa University and California State University, Northridge. Along with singing in numerous choirs, he also works as a professional soloist/actor throughout North America and Europe.
Recently Mr. Douglas was selected to receive the OM Hartsell “Excellence in Teaching Music Award” through the AMEA (Arizona Music Educators Association). Mr. Douglas had the opportunity to work in Italy singing opera and working as the assistant to the music director with the Lorenzo Malfatti Academia Vocale di Lucca. In addition to directing and performing, Mr. Douglas has served on the Arizona Choral Educators board for two terms and the American Choral Directors Association of Arizona Board for one term. He is the active Arts Council of the North Valley Vice President, and the North Central Region Governor. Mr. Douglas was extremely honored last year to have Broadway Bound featured at the AMEA convention, to direct Honor Choir on stage at Carnegie Hall, and proud to be recognized as DVUSD’s teacher of the year in May.
