A native Kansan, he attended Bethel College in North Newton, KS where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Psychology Education. Later he attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he completed his Master of Arts in Vocal Music and Choral Conducting. He is the Secondary Teacher Leader for Aurora Public Schools and he is an active member of the Colorado Music Association and the American Choral Directors Association.
