Show Choir Community    Personnel    Mandi Steele

Mandi Steele
Mrs. Steele's musical journey began at the age of 6, when she began piano lessons. Since that time, she has been involved in music in many different facets.

She has served as an accompanist to both her vocal students and to choirs, and enjoys teaching piano and voice. Mrs. Steele also plays the guitar and ukulele.

Mrs. Steele is the founder of the Vermillion Children's Choir. Used as her graduate project, Mrs. Steele created the choir as a favor to Dr. Holdhusen and Dr. Gesteland, who both dreamt of a children's choir in Vermillion. For more information, see their website at www.vermillionchildrenschoir.weebly.com

Mrs. Steele created a music class for special learners while living in Nebraska. Collaborating with the special education teachers, she created a fun and engaging weekly music class for students of many different abilities. In addition to the weekly class, Mrs. Steele organized a Christmas program each year she taught, an event that both parents and students loved and looked forward to every year.

Mrs. Steele is excited to begin teaching the students of Lennox and is looking forward to engaging them in music on a daily basis. She firmly believes her motto: Musicians for Life!

Mrs. Steele holds a Master of Music in Vocal/Choral Education from the University of South Dakota. At USD she was assistant director of the USD Concert Choir, assistant director for Elixir of Love, a USD Opera production, taught the Vocal Lit and Tech Class, was the teaching assistant for the Music Methods for Elementary Teachers, and assisted in many other areas.

Mrs. Steele received her Bachelors in Music Education from Boise State University in 2008. While attending BSU, she was a member of the BSU Meistersingers and served at President.
