Heather Orr is the Head Director of Choral Activities at Montgomery High School. She holds a Master of Arts in Vocal Pedagogy from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Heidelberg College.
Mrs. Orr's choirs consistently earn Sweepstakes at UIL Competitions and choirs under her direction have been recognized with First Divisions and Best in Class awards at several festivals in Texas, Florida and New York. Mrs. Orr is a member of "Who's Who Among America's Teachers” “Who’s Who Among American Women” and was recognized by TMEA with a scholarship towards a doctorate degree. She will serve as TMEA All-State Treble Choir Section Leader in 2017, and has served in 2006 and in 2003, TCDA Conductor and Clinician, as well as host, clinician and adjudicator for many TMEA and UIL events. Mrs. Orr's professional affiliations include TMEA, TCDA, ACDA and TMAA. She has just completed 4 year term as TMEA Region 9 Vocal Region Chairman.
In 2010 and 2005, the Montgomery High School Chorale Women performed at TMEA under Mrs. Orr's direction. In 2011, the Chorale Women performed at the National ACDA Conference in Chicago, IL.
As Director of High School Choral Activities, Mrs. Orr will be team teaching all choirs, although the primary responsibilities include the Montgomery Madrigals, Varsity Chorale, Varsity Chorale Women, Varsity Chorale Men and team teaching Concert Men, A Cappella Women and 4th period Bel Canto.
Mrs. Orr resides in Montgomery with her husband Will. Together, they have four children, Carly, Abby, Christopher, and Claire Elizabeth.
