Thomas Murphy
Thomas Murphy has been in show business for over 30 years. As an Entertainer, Choreographer, Show Director and Producer, he has entertained audiences worldwide, performing alongside renowned professionals such as Gene Kelly, Liza Minnelli, Carol Channing, and Ben Vereen. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Thomas studied dance and musical theater arts under such greats as Gus Giordano and Lou Conti, as well as attending Northeastern Illinois University as a musical theatre and dance major. He then moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he joined Opryland Productions as a principal performer, including television roles on “Nashville Palace Live”, hosted by Minnie Pearl and Slim Pickens, and “A Night of Stars and Future Stars”, hosted by Gene Kelly – Dick Clark Productions.

For over a decade, Thomas has worked with Walt Disney Productions as an Entertainer, Show Director, Choreographer, and Staging Specialist. Currently, Thomas is a Creative Director with the Walt Disney Event Group, providing creative direction for the development of new projects, convention entertainment, and special events. In addition to that, Thomas also works with the Disney Performing Arts program as a talent clinician and director, where he teaches dance, audition, and show choir workshops to young performing groups visiting Walt Disney World. Some of his Disney production credits include Choreographer for “The Walt Disney World Easter Parade Television Special” and The Magic Kingdoms’ live stage productions of “America the Musical” and “Mickey’s ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas”. He also worked as the Staging Specialist for “The Walt Disney World Christmas Parade Television Spectacular” which included a production number featuring “pop star” Aaron Carter.

Aside from his extensive Disney experience, Thomas is the Current, Show Director and Choreographer for Stone Mountain Park, Atlanta Georgia, Hershend Family Entertainment, as well as the Paramount Theme Parks across America and Canada. Four of his Paramount stage productions have received the prestigious IAAPA Big “E” “Best Overall Production” Award: 2003 - CMT’s “Young Country”, 2004 - “Tuned In”, 2006 – “VH1’s Vibe”, and Overall Winner - 2007 “Santa’s Toy Factory”.
