Christina started teaching at William Fremd High School in 2014. Before coming to Fremd, she was the choir director at Batavia High School where she taught five curricular choirs and developed a choir for students in the special education department. She also started a competitive showchoir and vocal directed the musical and madrigal performances.
Christina attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (GO ILLINI!), graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. While at Illinois, she performed in Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and The Rip Chords female a cappella group. She received the Vocal Division Achievement Award and the Music Education Division Achievement Award. Additionally, Christina enjoyed studying and traveling in Granada, Spain to complete a minor in Spanish.
Christina has taught at the Rising Stars Showchoir camps and the Illinois Summer Youth Music (ISYM) camp at the University of Illinois. She is a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), and completed a Master's degree in Music Education and Kodaly Level 1 at DePaul University.
At Fremd, Christina currently directs the five curricular choirs, Soundscape Showchoir, and is the vocal director for the musical. She also is a member of St. Charles Singers. In her free time, she enjoys fitness classes, traveling, and trying new restaurants (suggestions always appreciated)!
