Kay Dick
Kay Dick is currently pursuing ABD in Choral Music Education at Auburn University. Mrs. Dick is a Graduate Teaching Assistant with both the Music and Curriculum & Teaching Departments teaching music education classes and assisting with the choral ensembles at Auburn. Mrs. Dick earned her Masters of Church Music from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and undergraduate degree in Music Education from Louisiana College. 
 
Over her career, Mrs. Dick has taught at all levels of P-12 education in private, public, and homeschool settings, most recently teaching secondary choir for 13 years where she led the award-winning show choir Out of the Blue (OOTB) of Chelsea High School. While under Mrs. Dick's direction, the group won Best Choreography, Best Vocals, Best Show Design, Best Overall Effect, Best Energy, Most Outstanding Performer, Best Soloist in a Show, and Overall 4th Runner Up at the HOA national show choir competition in Nashville, TN. In 2019, the group was nominated for the FAME Aspire Best New Program and Mrs. Dick won the FAME Aspire Best New Director Award. OOTB also received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the mayor of their city multiple times and Mrs. Dick received the same award from the governor of Alabama, Kay Ivey. 

Mrs. Dick teaches studio voice and piano and is a lifelong church musician serving churches in Louisiana, Kentucky, Indiana, and Alabama. She is worship leader and choir director at Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church. and serves show choirs and other choral groups as guest conductor, vocal coach, and adjudicator. Mrs. Dick is soprano section leader for Alabama Voices, a semi-professional choral group, Alabama State Membership Chair of the Alabama chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, and is a member of College Music Society, the Alabama Music Educators Association, and the National Association for Music Education. Her research interest in teaching for social justice led to collaborative events such as Unity Concerts, intergenerational choral festivals, joint worship services with inner-city church choirs, choirs for students with disabilities, and overseas work in Zimbabwe and Kenya.
