Rachel is a graduate of Samford University. She has taught at the middle school and high school levels, since her graduation in 2009. While at Samford, Rachel was a member of the Samford A Cappella Choir, the Samford Marching Band, the Samford Jazz Ensemble, as well as a member of Samford OperaWorks. Rachel toured with the A Cappella Choir to London, Washington D. C., and throughout the Southeast during her time at Samford. She has appeared in the following productions: I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change!, Amahl and the Nightvisitors, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Fiddler on the Roof, Annie, and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Rachel has co-directed the following productions: Little Shop of Horrors, Nunsense, The Fantasticks, and Alice in Wonderland. She is an active member in the Alabama Vocal Association (AVA), National Association of Music Education (NAfME), and the Alabama chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). Rachel has led workshops for AL ACDA Summer Celebration, and serves on the AL ACDA board as the Choral Honor Society Chair. Rachel sings in the choir and on the praise team, alongside her husband, Chris, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. They have a precious daughter named Summerlyn who loves to sing and dance!
