Carla Doles has been involved in the show choir world since the late 70s. She graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Choral Music Education followed by a Masters degree in Secondary Choral Music Education from Indiana University. Carla began her teaching career at Carroll High School Ft. Wayne where she started the Show Choir program and remained there for 28 years building the program to consistent, well-known excellence. In 2004 Carla left Carroll to pursue building the choral program at Norwell HS. Her groups at Norwell quickly established a strong reputation on the Show Choir circuit as “Small but Mighty”and helped to establish the category of the Small Mixed division on the Contest circuit. Carla’s groups consistently received Grand Champion titles with several undefeated seasons in the Small Mixed division as well as being consistent finalists at FAME and HEART OF AMERICA Nationals. Carla left Norwell Spring of 2021 after 17 years as head choral director for both Middle and High School choral programs. She is currently Co-Director with Sandra Manglos at Northridge High School where she is continueing her passion for teaching Music and always striving for excellence in the world of Choral Music Education.
