Chad is a choral director at Brownsburg High School, where he directs Spotlight Singers & Co, Starlight Voices, The Blend, Concert Choir, Men's Choir, and The Dawg Pound. He also directs the music for the fall musical and teaches a semester of piano. In his first two years at BHS, he led two show choirs to finals appearances at each contest, as well as both groups competing at the ISSMA State Finals. They were also awarded captions for best vocals, choreography, tech crew, and three Grand Championships. He has also been honored to be part of incredible concert seasons in which all 8 choirs received gold ratings in all categories and sight-reading, along with the State Championship for the Unisex Division in 2015.
Chad is a native of Lafayette, IN, and received his bachelor's degree in music education back in 2010 from Marian University, Indianapolis. Prior to his arrival at Brownsburg, Mr. Strasser was the choral director at New Prairie High School in New Carlisle, IN from 2011-2014. There he created two competitive show choirs and led them to the ISSMA State Show Choir Finals, as well as numerous gold ratings in performance and sight-reading at ISSMA Contest. He directed all four choirs, the fall musical, and also taught courses in music theory and music appreciation. He also served as an assistant director for Lafayette Jefferson's First Edition Show Choir from 2007-2010, coached cross-country at Lafayette Jeff, and student taught at Lawrence Central High School in 2010, where he received a Future Educator's Award from the Indiana Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.
