Andrew Martin is a choral director, clinician, and arranger based in Indianapolis, Indiana. A graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School in Lafayette, Indiana, Andrew was privileged to be a member of the award-winning First Edition show choir and Varsity Singers concert choir. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Ball State University in 2006 and his Master’s degree in Music Technology from IUPUI in 2012. From 2003-2005, Andrew served as an assistant director for The First Edition from Lafayette Jefferson, where he directed the show choir’s back-up band and arranged music for performances. Under his direction, Andrew’s bands earned numerous “Best Band” awards at competitions throughout the state.
From 2006-2016, Andrew served as the Director of Choral Activities at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. At Lawrence North, he directed as many as six choirs, including two competitive show choirs and an advanced concert choir. His show choirs received numerous awards in competition including Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Band, Best Male and Female Soloists, and Grand Champion while his concert choirs consistently earned Gold ratings in ISSMA Organizational and State Qualification events.
Currently, Andrew is a freelance arranger, clinician, and adjudicator and serves as an adjunct professor of humanities at Ivy Tech Community College and as a Minister of Music at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Carmel, Indiana. He is also pursuing his doctoral degree in choral conducting at Ball State University, where he is the graduate assistant for the Choral Area and for the Ball State University Singers.
