Kevin Breazeale is a free-lance music theatre choreographer, show-designer and performer. Recently, he won the Mississippi Theatre Association State Drama Festival’s, (MTASDF) “Best Choreography” award for “Altar Boyz” produced by Just Over the Rainbow Theatre. This spring he staged and choreographed HCLO’s “Les Miserables.” This summer he returned as the musical theatre choreography clinician at the University of Southern Mississippi and Festival South’s “Command Performance Broadway Intensive.” Currently, Kevin is working on the operetta, “The Merry Widow” for the University of Southern Mississippi’s School of music. He is looking forward to working on “Mary Poppins” with USM’s School of Music this fall and winter of 2015. Last year, Kevin choreographed “Hairspray” for “CPBI” during FestivalSouth. Last spring, he choreographed and played the role of Paul in a production of “Kiss Me Kate” at the Natchez Festival of Music in Natchez, MS. Kevin also staged and choreographed a production of “Sweeney Todd” for the University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Music last winter. Kevin has also been involved with choreography for musical theatre productions of “Les Miserables,” “Into the Woods,” “A Chorus Line,” and “Footloose.” at the theatre award-winning, Chesterton High School in Indiana. He studied dance at Giordano Dance Center, Joel Hall and Lou Conte Studios during his eight-year residency in Chicago. Along with dance, he also studied acting at the Actor’s Center of Chicago. He has also served as a choreography clinician at the Eastern Illinois University Music Camp, The Blue Ridge Show Choir Camp in W.Va., and the Butler Summer Showcase in El Dorado, Ks. For the past 10 years, Kevin has judged and been a visual clinician at regional and national show choir competitions with FAME Events. His competition show choir groups consistently place as finalists and are recipients of many choreography caption awards. Kevin holds a B.A. in Communication Studies and Journalism from Loyola University Chicago.
