Lovar Davis Kidd, known as L.D., is an award-winning choreographer, and dance educator.
He is no stranger to the stage having performed extensively in both dance and musical theatre productions throughout the US. Most notably, he was an ensemble member and principal understudy of the 2011-2012 2nd National Tour of the award-winning musical In The Heights. Prior to In The Heights, Kidd was a core member of the all-male modern dance company, EDGEWORKS Dance Theater in Washington DC, and performed in “Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular” at the Disneyland Resort in CA.
He has taught and choreographed at several Studios and Universities and currently serves as a faculty member at Nolte Academy in Coralville, IA, and as a Visiting Guest Instructor of Hip-Hop & Tap dance at the University of Iowa.
L.D. is the proud father of Myles Davis Kidd (5), and Kohen Davis Kidd (3). He is a native of Cedar Rapids, IA where he is an entrepreneur and activist in the local arts community.
