The event has been updated (only a year later) with the official information/results. There wasn't a Showfest, as mentioned by Philip; instead it was a New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA) State Show Choir Competition hosted at Cleveland High School. I found all of this information on the event website which you can click on above.
The 2013 NMAA State Competition will be held on April 5, 2013.
Yes it is a competition! It was previously never made into a competition page, but I put one together real quick- and as you can now see Showfest is a show choir competition in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I'm not sure if there is one being held this year and I don't know if there will be one in 2014 either. I'm also not really sure who hosts the event. But I guess if you would like more information you could probably contact the directors for Eldorado, La Cueva, and other New Mexico show choirs that typically attend.
It just was turned into a state competition. Unfortunately this is not allowing out of state competitors. There have been efforts to bring back a competition that is open to groups outside New Mexico! Look for one to come hopefully!
