1st Pella AcaPella
2nd Norwalk Sound Revolution
3rd Williamsburg
4th Marion New Creation
5th Forest City Avocado Heights
AcaPella won caption awards for Best Costumes and Most Creative Song. Waukee Millenium won caption for Most Creative Show.
Benton did have the 1A/2A/3A rule (highest score in the small school class makes finals, along with 5 top scoring groups) but Pella had the 6th highest score overall, so we qualified either way. (Sorry, I'm proud of that so I thought I would mention it)
John Hayden and the folks at Benton put on a fantastic competition each year. Their gym has the best light/sound/video setup of any gym you will ever see for a show choir contest. Blue Sky Productions does the video production, and it is top notch. And the judges at TOC are outstanding also: Last, Kreitzer, Currington, Eklund, Crisler, Berry, etc....
Props to all the groups at Benton on Saturday. Waukee was great, but IC West was very impressive too. Xavier and Valley have both improved greatly since I saw them earlier this year. We enjoyed competing with and watching each of the groups on stage Saturday. (Sadly, I didn't get to see Davenport North, but I hear their female soloist is unbelievable). Touch of Class 2013 was another great success!
