Hehe! If the tie was between Westside & Hillside then wouldn't Hillside have gotten second? These scores I shared are directly from my directors mouth after looking at our feedback sheets and talking to people who were in the debating room. No mystery. Ps... I think I met you on Saturday! I sing the ballad solo!
I meant prelims sorry. Haha that is where the mix up was. I think that my info was skewed.
Uh-oh. I heard otherwise. I heard that it was ATSC and Pleasant Hill splitting 1st places with Elkhorn South taking all the 2nd place rankings. Im gonna guess that you are correct though because mine is just from a friend in Rez. Looks like we have a mystery. Can anyone confirm either of these?

Thanks for the info. That's making a bit more sense, but someone from the girls groups must know what those placements are. Hopefully they'll chime in.
Dont quote me here but if I remember correctly they said that the top scoring group, regardless of division, from the auditorium goes to finals. I dont have my program with me since Im back at school now but im gonna guess that Warrior Express was the higher scoring group of the 2 if the rule I stated earlier was actually in place.
You are correct, it was the highest scoring group from the auditorium and the only way I knew top 3 for prep and not for womens was because they said the top 3 scoring groups from auditorium and they were all prep.
Interesting that they take a prep group but not a women's group to finals. And even stranger that if they're not taking a women's group, they only announce the top winner and ignore the rest of the placements. And people complain that we don't update the single-gender divisions as often; it's no wonder if the competition itself doesn't even announce them! Still, it seems strange. Can anyone else confirm this, and/or are there any directors willing to share so we can give the women's groups their recognition? Thanks.

If I remember they only announced 1st Place. Which was Westside SI

The same could be said for the seventh place group at almost any other competition. The number of groups admitted into finals is arbitrary; people just tend to prefer what they're used to.
Anyone know the women's division results?

So whoever is that sixth place group today, I feel your pain.

Hey! I'm in Elkhorn South Blackout! The tie was over 1/2 between us and Westside. They were debating over who got the 4th (of 7) 1st place spots. In the end, Westside got 4 and we got 3, leaving them with the lowest score of 11 and us with 13. Regardless, I am so proud of our group! I love our family!

I know that ATSC only lead pleasant hill by a half point during daytimes. But thats about all I know.
Also, I'm hoping Res can give ATSC a run for their money when they meet up later this season!
Pleasant Hill was probably my favorite show I have seen all year. I'm not usually a fan of story shows or a lot of props, but they do it well. The guys song is awesome behind the bars and overall the creepiness and stage presence is really cool.
I thought Omaha Westside did really well and probably would have gotten best Choreography if it weren't for the song with the umbrellas. It seems like you guys did the song well, it is just so hard to make something like umbrellas look good and together. Otherwise, you could tell from the first few notes and moves in your first song that you were a definite 1st place contender, the first song was so amazing with the singing and sharpness of moves.
I was a little surprised to see Elkhorn South jump Pleasant Hill but in the end not really. Your show is really fun and really well done. Once again, not usually a fan of the silliness and props but I did like the dating show theme and the song with the guys through the doors made me laugh a lot.
When I saw Millard West at Midwest Cup I really didn't like the show or the story, same with the daytime performance here. But then for finals I kind of sat in a different section and was a little closer to hear better and I thought it was night and day to what I had seen before. Either you really stepped it up for finals or I was just nuts in my previous thoughts because I thought finals was really good and I actually went with the story a lot more. Your second song when the girls come out was probably my favorite part. What I didn't really get though was when the 7 dwarfs part came and everyone else was in business suits? It makes sense as in everyone going to work but I thought it was just a strange combination with some country, dwarfs, and business attire.
Southwest always likes Norris at their competition and although they didn't place as high as they have before, it was still a really good show. Props for making finals and going on around 9 something in the morning, that is a tough feat. I remember your group seeming to focus more on amazing vocals and a little easier choreography but this year the choreography was a lot tougher than I have seen you do and it was all done well.
Lastly, I'm not a fan of a prep group making finals just because they are a prep group but on that note, Warrior Express you definitely held your own to some of the top groups here and I really didn't see a drop off in show from yours to the open division so it was fun to see you guys in finals.
I can be a little opinionated with things in shows but I really did enjoy all finals groups and hope if you read this, you got something out of my comments.
PS-Cohagen, talked to Dyrland when he was judging finals, that was pretty fun to see him at SW again, especially as a judge.
I am extremely interested to see how legit Elkhorn South is this year after their extremely good showing so far. If anyone has the point spread/rankings here and would share them (publicly or privately) I would greatly appreciate it.
Congratulations to ATSC on continuing your Nebraska dominance! Also props to Pleasant Hill on 2RU!

I don't know scores or anything but announcements did take a while because they said they had some tie stuff to figure out. I'm assuming it was over 1/2 or 2/3 because all of them were really good but completely different styles.

Pretty sure that's a bogus account... and the name isn't too tasteful either. Time for a quick time out to give them a chance to clean up their act.
Creeped on their past posts... besides the one in this forum, all their posts have been about Massachusetts show choir.... which, lets face it, no one outside of Massachusetts knows Massachusetts show choir.
Someone from Burbank, California who is an expert on Massachusetts show choir is sitting in Lincoln, Nebraska. Well, if they are real, they definitely get around.

lol. tasteful? maybe not, but with the Quinn picture, you gotta admit its kinda funny/cute... minus what it says underneath the picture that is.
