They were very good. unfortunately i felt the show just kept getting less exciting after the opener, but that's because the opener was just that great

Yea that opener was phenomenal. Kierra is a phenomenal singer for only being a sophomore too!

My guess is he is asking because they aren't in the prelims list above (and they aren't in the prelims list above because they weren't on the schedule). If anyone knows when they competed, I will be happy to add them.

They were added in the prelims they actually performed 2nd or 3rd in the prelims. Or early in the morning before our middle school came on stage. Anyhow they were fantastic and I believe all the groups were.

were we actually? our director did not inform us of this.

and best vocals best choreo and best band were all night awards

yes, it was from the time being spent in the practice room when they were told that the next group needs to practice and the director did not listen until the final time asked.

Yes, apparently they just didn't go to Nebraska and went to Troy instead. No one knew until Saturday when they just showed up and were placed in the competition. They performed mid-afternoon in prelims.

I know Pleasant Hill was not on the schedule, because they were supposed to compete at Lincoln Southwest last weekend. However, I haven't seen anything that said they didn't compete in prelims.... So I guess I don't understand where you got that they didn't compete in prelims? I've never seen that happen before.

How did Pleasant Hill get into the finals without competing in prelims first?

How Troy competition works is that we give awards for the daytime and we also give awards for the finals as well, so there are numerous caption awards giving out through the whole competition. Loveland got second place because they were penalized.

Captions were awarded for prelims only. Several other schools got captions. Obviously they just stepped it up and had a better show in finals.
Not really obvious when we didn't know those were awarded in day round ;)

From Twitter, though 1st and 2nd place don't make much sense given the captions:

Grand Champion: Glenwood
1RU: Loveland (BV/BC)
2RU: Jefferson City
3RU: Pleasant Hill
4RU: Parkway Central
5RU: Harrisonville

Only thing I can think of is if there is an "other" category and the difference between that was so big to make up the (assuming small) point difference
Either that or Loveland got a penalty for something but still got credit for the captions. I'm not really sure.
