During Milton's Finals Exhibition, there was definitely a echo coming through the speaker right in front of us. We were up in the balcony right about the stage.

I heard the echo too, and I was right in front.

It seemed like technical difficulties was a pretty common theme on the day. Lots of microphones didn't work.

Anyone else think those are Burbank's exact outfits from their closer last year?

They are, milton's good friends with their director and we bought the outfits & medleyfrom them this year.

What happened to the microphone that the soloist for Chorolations in the disco medley was using? It went all freaky half way during her solo. Does anyone know what that was or what I'm even talking about?

Great compitition! Everyone was so incredeble and entertaining to watch. Quick question thought. What happened to the microphone that the soloist for Chorolations in the disco medley was using? I don't know exactly which show you were talking about, but the sound system was really on-and-off the whole day. one of our soloists had to switch the mic halfway through her solo in our girls song because it kept cutting in and out!! and I noticed problems with solo mics in many other shows as well. even though the mics were an issue, I had an AWESOME time at milton!! I'd never been there before and had so much fun. thanks to my wonderful hosts and everyone who put on a great competition, the first of the year for jefferson connection!!

As Derrick mentioned earlier, you can watch all the shows from the day at:

Redhawk Media

Just click on the VOD link at top, and look toward the bottom. All prelims and finals shows are there. Very cool!

I loved Jainesville-Craig's show ... especially the closer! But one question... how 'bout that ballad? Never seen it before... jk. You guys did awesome. Them and Waubonsie Valley are actually the only choirs that I really saw today on the live feed.

Thanks Rian! I thought you would have recognized our ballad as Piqua's opener from last year mixed with "Those You've Known" from Spring Awakening...

Really fun day overall! Congrats to all the competing groups. I saw almost everyone. Waubonsie Valley...you guys never cease to amaze! Incredible, incredible show!

Milton purchased the costumes from Burbank and they were hand delivered by Burbank's director, Brett Carroll last fall. Glad you noticed!

This was a fun competition to be at.
I was the guy at the Orange Julius with the Avenue Q shirt.
I only watched the shows on the tv in the lunch room, but from what I could see/hear, Waubonsie blew away the competition. Unfortunately, I couldn't hear Janesville's show.
Overall, it was neat considering it was my first competition I've been to in 2 years

So, I didn't get to see the live feed, well, because I was there, but it sounds like it was a big hit.

Some brief thoughts of mine from the day:

First off, great job to all the groups that performed today! It was a great day, and everybody was really nice. I met a few cool people from John Hersey and Bloomington Jefferson.

I'll start off with Bloomington Jefferson, the show started off a little slow for me, but once the band got up and did their thing, it seemed like it energized everyone. After that I loved it. Great Job!

Eau Claire, The daytime performance started off pretty good, but as it went along it lost energy, but you definitely changed that in finals, the energy stayed throughout the show, and I really enjoyed it.

Sauk Prairie, while I've never been a huge fan of the style, I thought you all did a great job acting the parts.

John Hersey, pretty entertaining to watch, but I don't remember a whole lot about the show, but great job.

Waubonsie Valley, just simply blew me away with both outstanding vocals and clean choreography. I LOVED Alexander's Ragtime Band. That was really entertaining. Loved the show, and a much deserved sweep!

Janesville, Way to step it up for finals! WOW! Every year, gets better and better. The show was very entertaining, and great job to Jamie Berg for best female soloist in a show!

They give best performer and participation medals to the person in each group who was the best performer. Thats kind of really cool that they give them to a person in EVERY group and just just overall.

That's one of my favorite things about the Benton competition, it's a great way to recognize the stars of each group
