first off awesome job FDC as an alumni i wish i was back in it this year. you really kicked it up in finals theres no doubt about that. i have no need to write anymore about you because i already said everything to everyone at the hotel.

ATSC you have always been my favorite show choir since i was a freshman and i have always enjoyed your shows. let me say watching you perform again was a breath of fresh air. the strong choreo, hardcore vocals, selling to the audience, and down right being the coolest people ever makes your show choir unique. i love the show this year and i hope i can have the chance to see it again. best of luck to all of you this season.

Totino...WOW.........you were amazing. i have never seen you peeps perform in person. the only time i have ever watched a show of yours would be on a dvd years ago. for the first time watching you perform live i am still in awe of how awesome your show was and how well you performed it. i was far past impressed and stunned. i really hope you do amazing at the rest of the comps your going to.

this competition had some pretty strong show choirs this year and everyone did great. i cant wait to see everyones shows again.

We bought a sing that said "Anna Blvd" and fixed it to make it her own. I think she was impressed.

I was super impressed/ flattered. I also enjoyed getting to throw Joe's stuff on the floor and declaring that it was clearly my desk, since it had MY sign.

I really enjoyed Mitchell's novelty- it was really clever- which doesn't surprise me, because Steve Todd is proving himself to be great in the show design department.

HA, I would do that! In my head I went "Original Technicolor Show Choir"....but it was actually "Amazing Technicolor Show Choir"....lol, sorry about that. You'd think I'd know the name of the hosting show choir " border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

haha its ok. At onalaska we were "ATC" from Omaha West.

Wow, OTSC has a HUGE school! I mean WOW! I thought Hastings had a huge school, but yours was GIANT! I for sure got lost at least twice (lol), but I finally figured out the routes I needed to take.

OTSC=ATSC

We absolutely loved hosting Totino. You all are the nicest kids (and a darn good show choir). If all goes well though, it will only be a short 2 weeks till we see you at Urbandale, and you can bet we will be cheering for you.

Healthy amount of competitive spirit + some extrememly good groups + spongebob pinatas/dance parties/Michael Jackson/light up Totino-Grace signs/Ana Blvd. Sign = One great competition

Instead of posting when I was ridiculously tired, I got some sleep and decided to post now First off, I want to say thank you to the room hosts. You guys were SO fantastic! I remember walking down the hall and seeing a huge sign w/ our school on it, and I just KNEW the rooms would look awesome! You guys went all out, and I want you to know how much we appreciate your efforts. You were really nice and supportive of us, and we had fun dancing with you at the dance party right before awards ;)

In terms of our placement at the end, I am extremely happy with how we did, considering how amazing the groups were! I was backstage pretty much going crazy waiting to hear awards (lol, did you see us walk in onstage from the side? We went back there b/c we were expecting 2 reps from each group to go onstage BEFORE awards were announced). I know the type of scoring helps some groups and harms others, but its all good because we were super excited with how we performed. Anyway, it was a positive result, and I'm so proud of everyone in Company for giving 110% in both performances. I love you guys, and its great to see our efforts pay off

Wow, OTSC has a HUGE school! I mean WOW! I thought Hastings had a huge school, but yours was GIANT! I for sure got lost at least twice (lol), but I finally figured out the routes I needed to take. The food was really well priced and very delicious! Thank you for the huge subs and chips and apples and things, we REALLY appreciated it (we were quite hungry!) I also LOVED the bears! I think that about 75% of the people in our group bought one. They were adorable

I only got to see a few shows, but my favorite was Mitchell's show. I LOVED "Virtuoso"! It was so energetic and super clean, and it gave me that excited feeling I get when watching Clinton Congrats on the GC!

Souix City was also very good. You guys still had issues with the shoes (do they have clear straps on the top?), but you covered it up well. I saw one girl dancing with one shoe on, and you couldn't even tell b/c she still danced just as well as she would have with both shoes. My favorite song in your set is "Blue Skies"...the soloist makes me melt " border="0" alt="wub.gif" /> It was all very energetic, and congrats on 2nd runner-up and best vocals (you guys sing SO well!)

I didn't get to see Grand Island, but I heard great things about your show, especially your Lion King opener (my mom loved it, lol).

I also didn't get to see Papillion or Lewis Central, but I also heard favorable comments

Well, that's all for now. Congratulations to everyone who competed, and good luck with the rest of your seasons

oh some more stuff to add:

I really did not like Mitchell's closer costumes.... oh well.

Lewis Central and Stephen Todd really do fit together.

Ana, lol I know you're not surprised I didn't love totino's show... lol you know how crazy I am. But before people think I'm a "totino hater" let me remind everyone this is the first of totino's show's i havent liked... We'll just have to wait and see it later and i bet i'll like it in a few weeks lol.

This was such a fun competition!! I want to thank John, Jordan, Jeff, and Michael for being such awesome room hosts. You were the best room hosts we ever had. I think that it is very difficult to top you 4. We all had an awesome time!!! I would recommend this competition to anyone.

I also want to say that selling the bears with the costumes of the different groups is a spectacular idea!!! I had soo much fun. I'll never forget this competition or the people there!!!!

No. I am not advocating that. I definitely think that would not be the solution at all. I am advocating a rules change for next year and for other competitions as well.

or, instead of rendering the actual scores irrelevant, how about this? throwing out extremes devalue the data set by decreasing its size. outliers from the population should be *standardized*, not eliminated.

Jay, it was fun finally meeting you yesterday! I'm actually not surprised you didn't like our show- oh well! Maybe next year, huh? " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Well, first- a huge thanks to Doran, the parents and students at Omaha Westside, and especially our hosts. You guys really run a top notch competition there, and we will absolutely be back- hopefully with less stuff!! Truly though, what a friendly and welcoming atmosphere- I would recommend this competition to anyone.

You were incredibly accomodating and helpful- our hosts went way beyond the call of duty like several times- starting with the awesome room decorations. You have no idea how much it means to all of us to have such a positive experience. It was hard not to be happy at the end of the night, not only because we were excited at our placement, but because it was really just a great day all around.

I don't have the scoresheets in front of me- I wish I had a PILLOW in front of me- but, I'll post what I remember:

During the day, Sioux City East was in first, we were second behind them by 10.5 points, and Mitchell was in third (not sure what the margin was, but I recall it wasn't very much).

At night, East received one first place ranking from Jeremy Landig, Mitchell received one first place ranking from Paul Gulsvig, and we recieved three from Nancy Allen, Anne Chapman, and David Moore. We also had a third from Jeremy Landig, and a sixth from Paul Gulsvig, Mitchell seemed to have mostly 2nds, and that East had one 4th from Paul Gulsvig.

I have to give a special shout out to Lewis Central- Steve Todd is a great fit for you! I loved "Figure It Out"- what a nice use of Maroon 5- their material is difficult to make work easily in show choir, but you guys made it happen!

I'll try to fill in the holes later- now I'm off to 2 rehearsals and a meeting for our competition!

This competition was another great one. It was my 5th or 6th competition of excellence and it was definitely the most fun and the most competitive.

Totino- I love you guys. Like John said earlier, when you guys had us join your circle it made us feel so accepted by you. We are really glad that you liked all of your decorations too. I'll never forget yesterday and all the awesome times we had. I loved your guys' attitudes after awards too. I love when groups celebrate like no other even if they get 1st Runner-Up. You guys were great. And thanks a lot for cheering for me during Vastapella. haha. You helped cover up my voice crack. But seriously, you guys are all awesome. See you at urbandale hopefully.

Mitchell- Congrats! I hosted you guys last year so I noticed a lot of faces in the group this year. You guys were awesome. The show is so sweet and you guys performed really well. Congrats again and best of luck the rest of this year.

I didn't get the chance to watch many other groups but the competition as a whole was great. Hope to see you all back next year, as well as a few new choirs.
