I just want to give another shout out to Webb City! This win is something that they should be able to enjoy and I hope they are doing just that. Bella Vocé & Singers are both great groups with an amazing director! They overcame the odds and for that I applaud them. Congratulations Webb

I don’t understand why finals were judged by feelings and not points?

Hi George! Jenine here, I keep up with Missouri show choirs!!

What do you mean by this?

I think what he means is that the finals awards were given out by the judges voting on their opinions and not based on the points given by the judges. Therefore is some judge were to be biased towards a group it would have affected the outcome.

Consensus ranking (or some variation thereof) is a common scoring system in the Midwest that accounts for intangibles and avoids ties. If you’re trying to insinuate that the judging panel was out to get somebody, I really don’t think that’s true based on the quality of the panel. Plus, shouldn’t feelings generally turn out to be the same way as points? If you feel like a performance was better, you would theoretically give it more points.

I think it's supposed to be the Viking Show Choir from Seaman High School in Topeka, not Topeka High School.

Is the Topeka show choir a new group to this show choir world!? If so, it’s great to see more and more show choirs popping up in Kansas!

It is a new group, at least competitively, as I needed to make a new school page as I uploaded the lineup.

Hi there,

We don't have any record of them competing last year - and it looks like we have full award placements listed. Can you provide some more insight into their participation?

Thanks!
