All I really could hear during clintons performance on the live stream was a piano, but oh wow are they clean this year

Such an amazing competition. Clinton proving why they are #1 and have been for a long time. Just mesmerizing watching them perform.

Does this mean South beat Clinton in prelims? If so… warm up will be a fun environment.

Usually, if a school has two groups in finals, they automatically get the last and first slots in finals so that the directors, band, and potentially doubles have enough time to prep between each show. Wheaton south could be in first, or they could be anywhere else in the prelims ranks.

If it happens I think we have to ask some questions to tridelt2 and mylasc….

It might, but I think the more obvious and more likely explanation here is that Glenwood is letting WWS have some time in between their groups.

Nathan nailed it. That rule is outlined in the Glenwood handbook.

The original order I saw had Clinton going last, preceded by Wheaton North and Wheaton South, seeming to indicate that prelims was:

1. Clinton
2. Wheaton North
3. WWS
4. Petoria
5. Marquette

Someone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong about that.

No. Clinton was ahead of both Wheaton teams by a comfortable margin.

For those really curious to know….
Our handbook states that if a school has two groups in finals, then they automatically get spots 1 and 6 to allow plenty of time for those choirs to be ready to perform. From there, groups choose their spots from highest score to lowest score (this would be the same if we had 6 separate schools - top score picks first, then so on and so forth). Finalist announcements were in random order.
