Kudos to Power Company. As in recent years, their strong vocals and large, sweeping choreography makes for an impressive presentation. Also, a shout out to Sauk Prairie for their theatrical show - not a straight forward "show choir" show, but I think they did a great job mixing up musical choreo with moments of straight up show choir movements. Definitely an entertaining piece. (And as usual, I thought our Hilltoppers did a great job, but I'm biased!)

My thoughts after seeing a good chunk of prelims. Sauk was the first group I saw.

Sauk had a very entertaining show. They had strong vocals and amazing soloists as usual. I always admire how dedicated Sauk is to their shows. Great job overall!

Spotlighters have a smaller group this year and seem to be rebuilding their program. They put out a good sound for how small their group is. Choreography could use some cleaning but it definitely has potential. Their band was amazing! Good luck this season!

I really enjoyed Reedsburg’s show! Some parts of their show were stronger than others but overall very solid! They had some great vocal moments and choreography is looking pretty clean for this early in the season. Great job, Reedsburg!

I was so impressed with Monona Grove! Loved the 90’s theme, such a fun show! Vogue gave me life. Their choreography had a lot of energy. Kudos to them for performing fully masked and still being able to provide quality vocals. I can’t wait to see how they refine this show and where they take it this season.

Onalaska also performed fully masked and had beautiful vocals. Very entertaining as always and an all around very strong show! Many groups seem to be having rebuilding years due to Covid but Onalaska seems as fierce as ever.

Waconia blew me away! Amazing vocals and the cleanest choreography of the day in my opinion. I predict they will sweep.

1RU: Onalaska
2RU: Monona Grove
3RU: Reedsburg
4RU: Sauk
5RU: Hamilton/Fort (didn’t see these groups so just guessing)

It seems that Cashton and Sparta switched to La Crosse Central Grand River Invite. Performance times for Milton Rock the Rock have been adjusted above; only morning times were impacted.
