Cyprus, Chula Vista and JFK did not attend the competition this year

So none of their groups competed, even though they're listed as 3rd place, 4th place, etc?

That’s right! They were on the original schedule, but then a new schedule was posted the day before…

So that would mean that in the Mixed Tier II division, Bonita Vista placed 5th Runner Up

This was a huge (and honestly kind of unexpected) win for In Sync! Congrats to both them and Powerhouse for beating a VERY strong Sound FX this season. The Tier 1 groups in California are on another level.

Just wondering, why did womens tier 1, 2 and 5 go Friday but 3 and 4 on Saturday?

My best guess… that’s how they scheduled the divisions so there was enough room in the theater to seat all the performers and sell tickets…

Bonita Vista didn't even place? WOW unheard of! I’ve heard quite a bit about their new director ever since 2019, which is when he came in So sad to see Bonita Vista like this. Wish the live stream was working! would’ve loved to see the fight to the top in tier 2! Nice to see what used to be the “smaller” schools coming out on top! Kudos to Diamond Bar and Glendora this season! they did awesome! and also glad to see that Hart is still doing well!

Question- Does anybody know what happened to Carlsbad “Sound Express”? did not see them anywhere this season!

Also! there was 5 womens divisions?? Is it like the mixed groups now? Tier 1 and 2 are advanced? I’m thinking Tier 3 and 4 are intermediate, and Tier 5 is Novice?! why would there be 2 intermediates? unless Tier 3 is “advanced” intermediate and Tier 4 is “novice” intermediate. SOOO many womens divisions!!! why?!?! i dont get it lol

Ok here are some clarifications about the groups this year:

The amount of tiers is in reference to small and large groups, so the intermediate split was based on the groups with more and fewer students performing. However, the caption awards were for the entire 'division', including small and large sections, hence why HLX won music and connexion won show. Hope that clears thing up.

Apparently there is an outage with Spectrum (internet provider) and it affects the live stream.
