The emcees were mentioning on Saturday that Linn-Mar has won MOShow the most over the years- now 9 times! Which school has won MOShow the next amount of times? Kennedy with 5. And the choir with the 3rd most MOShow GCs? ( ) You guessed it, GCS, with 4! What a fun coincidence that those were the top 3 scoring groups of the 25th MOShow. I realized it about halfway through 10th Street’s finals performance and realized it was just so fitting!!!
Highlights for me: Hi-Style's opener. I love it so much. Also, the genuine love and emotion these performers exhibited for each other was so cool to see. They were so surprised to make finals, and it showed. Also, GCS <3 I hosted GCS twice when I was in Momentum, so it was AMAZING to see GCS back on the MOShow stage. It had been far too long and everything felt right with GCS back!

Ordinal consensus was used to determine BV, BC and placements. For choreography, Franklin had every judge put them 1st, and so they won BC. For vocals, Franklin had 2 1st placings, and Vernon had 1, so Franklin won vocals.
Franklin won with straight 1s. Taft, McKinley, and Vernon tied for 2nd- with each of them having a first placing once Franklin was removed. Taft won the 1st tiebreaker (ranking points) with their rankings adding up to 10, McKinley 11, and Vernon 13. That is how Taft was 2nd, McKinley 3rd, and Vernon 4th.
As you can see, 2nd-6th was EXTREMELY close, separated by just few points, and with no clear consensus between the judges. And let me tell you, that's what I felt in the gym. All of these groups were so good and so close to each other because they were all singing so well and performing with all of the energy!!! Congrats to everyone!
Final results are posted. It was very cool to see that performance from Shawndell Young, especially since I remember putting their name in this site so many times for best soloist awards.

The feed cut in and out for me during the awards ceremony, primarily while they were announcing finalists. I think I got most of the daytime captions posted except whatever Hi Style was awarded (maybe best ballad? not sure). If folks can fill in the blanks, that'd be great.
It looks like this is Mo Show's 25th Anniversary. I wanted to give a quick shout out to that and, I think, we have pretty much every year of Mo Show competition results archived here on showchoir.com! Some of the earliest years are a bit sparse, but very cool to have the history of this entire competition documented like that. This is always a larger goal of showchoir.com, to be that database of show choir history. Thanks to folks like Jay and our other archive warriors for surely submitting much of this information over the years and congrats to Cedar Rapids Washington on 25 years.
