Dang I knew the competition between Pendleton and New Castle would be close but I wasn’t expecting it to be THAT close!! Should make for an interesting state finals next weekend if both groups go!
I’m going to be honest, as an alumni from both Homestead groups, we sadly never seem to do well at Indy competitions. My sister, who is currently a senior in Class Royale, said that EVERY group she saw/that was there was outstanding and it was difficult competition. I was also informed that (this is just what I heard!!!! don’t know if is accurate and not trying to disrespect any groups or judges!!!!) two judges had them in second, another in dead last, and the others I forget what placements she said. But every judge has their own opinion and that became very evident at this competition which is okay! Congratulations to all groups who performed yesterday!
Yes this is true!! They never expected to win. They were added to this competition last minute due to their Chicago trip being cancelled. All of the kids are just grateful to have a final competitive performance!!! I don’t really think your comment was necessary, but thanks for adding it in!!!!!
I get on one hand not having 5th/6th place trophies if they were only anticipating having 4 finalists, but they could have still verbally announced placements. I can't tell if I'm confused because I'm dead tired or because this contest was bizarre.
