It's a code that Häakon wrote. Once we get into the competition season, there are a ton of events that occur every week (20-30 comps some weeks!) and so the code auto syncs typically the Grand Champion from Finals to the homepage - if a contest doesn't have finals, it usually redirects to Mixed Tier I as that's the highest tier of competition. Beyond that, I'm not sure. Häakon would have to share more. That's the purpose of that homepage box you're referring to, to be a quick snapshot of that week's events, and hopefully that now makes sense. Additionally, even the term "Grand Champion" isn't used consistently from competition to competition. Some places have a GC for every division, some have one GC for the overall event, and some call it "first place" instead of GC altogether. It's just what we call it there on the homepage and on some of our event pages. Making things uniform and one-size-fits-all on SCC is... challenging, to say the least.
Missouri is a... unique one with how they run some of their contests and I think there could be worthy dialogue on why that is, but any confusion can certainly be clarified by viewing the event page itself as that's where the relevant comments exist as well as more event schedule detail (above).

If you can't view this, try to use a personal account. School administrations won't let you view something that isn't under their network. I've had one person try already, so this should solve your problem.
Thanks, Logan! I was able to view the schedule just fine. The schedule didn't include the divisions though... so I went ahead and posted the schedule based on the divisions the choirs are usually in and how Missouri usually (sometimes?) works. If any changes need to be made just let us know!
