It’s competitions like this that make me wish my choir would travel more. Here are my predictions.
GC: Wahlert Catholic “Impulse” (BV) (BC)
1RU: Muscatine “River City Rhythm”
2RU: Dowling Catholic “Dimensions”
3RU: Davenport North “Northside Establishment”
4RU: Tomah “Limited Edition”
5RU: Liberty “Storm” (BB)

Band could go to anyone, but I was particularly impressed with Liberty’s band last year. Also, just because I left Western Dubuque and Davenport West out does not mean I don’t think they’ll make finals. Western Dubuque was impressive last year, as they took GC at West Delaware and had a very good performance at Fort Madison. West Connection also did really well, and neither groups should be counted out just yet. Good luck to all who are competing.

I quite enjoy reading your thoughtful posts with reasons why you predict groups in certain spots. It's something I wish people would do more. That said, I found this one a little funny...

Also, just because I left Western Dubuque and Davenport West out does not mean I don’t think they’ll make finals.
By leaving them out - of a prediction - isn't that exactly what you're saying?

I'm mostly teasing, because I'm sure what you mean is that both groups are fully capable of also making finals. That said, a prediction is a guess... and the reality is that only 6 groups will place. It's the reason predictions can be challenging, because by saying "I think this group will win," you're saying that literally every other group won't. That of course doesn't mean that you think every other group is BAD... it's just a guess at the placement order with the best information you have. And that is completely ok to say that without shame!

It funny that the difference between "they'll" and "they could" would completely change the meaning of what I said.
