Were there professional photos taken at this event? If so, can somebody post a link?

Why does Carmel’s professional band compete against high school bands?

My son plays trumpet for Naperville. He texted that there was a "scoring error" and the Hot Brockets actually won

Carmel alum! I was in Accents for two years; we started using the pro band last year during my senior year. When we learned of the change we were told that it meant we were no longer eligible for BB at any competitions, as it would be unfair to judge a pro band against a student band. I'm not sure how eligibility gets communicated to the judges, but my point is:
1). Carmel knows they're ineligible for BB and they don't expect it
2). If they're awarded BB, I assume one of the directors will let the judges know so that the award ends up with the rightful student band

Having a professional band is completely fine. Carmel did nothing wrong, it was a simple mistake. We love our new friends from Carmel!

I’m pretty sure to be eligible, you can’t have more than two professionals in your band. I’m in Manteno magic and we aren’t eligible either because we have over two professionals in our combo

Manteno Magic and Prospect Mixed Company had tied in pre-lims. What determines who gets in and not in a tie?

Bold, but I really don’t see Ambassadors losing to Accents. Both have great shows and the fact that I could totally see them both placing here is a testament to their program.

We hadn't previously received the middle school list, but the folks at Hersey were kind enough to clue us in -- so it's now posted.
