Why was this competition canceled?

"The reason for this cancelation is due to low participation numbers from other schools. It was our hope that the invitational would remain an event that you and your students would look forward to. The committee, DeKalb Central administration, and I apologize for the inconvenience this causes" (DeKalb Choirs).
