The judges gave them ideas during their critique to use if they were to make finals and they did so they took the idea/opinion. That's why they did their first three songs, which I still thought they did amazing with and totally deserved that Best Vocals and 1st Runner Up! <3 It isn't usual but some show choirs, if they make finals can change one of their numbers or add one or cut some, as long as they follow the rule book they're good to still place which Reedsburg did follow. Hopefully that answered it! Sorry if it didn't though haha. :D

I have never heard of a choir being told they're last few numbers are so bad they should cut them instead of performing them and the group still gets 1RU. That's amazing

No, for sure they did not cut it because it was "so bad" but every competition is different and what they did was just not a usual thing, if any other groups wanted too, they for sure could've cut out some of their numbers too but Reedsburg did what was best for them and was the only group that took that chance and still did amazing!

Thank you for answering. There's no doubt their ballad was stellar! Something I've only heard from Ona in this area. I've just never seen something like this in 4 years and over a dozen competitions attended. It did bother me that they didn't bow & acknowledge their band.
