Everyone seems to be forgetting that counterpoints won nationals last year and descants placed second. They’re about to kill it at this competition, don’t sleep on NC.
I'm not sure if folks are forgetting that or not. It's possible, it certainly would be helpful if more folks included a quick blurb on why they're predicting what they're predicting as it would promote additional discussions. North Central did win Show Choir Nationals last year and I really did enjoy their show. It's fair to point out though that Franklin Central was not at SCN and when NC and FC went head-to-head last year here at Ben Davis similar results transpired from what's being predicted below. Now, the past is the past and anything can happen this season but I'd venture a guess as to that's why predictions are as they are. Without a doubt, NC and FC are among the best show choirs in the country and it's always a battle when they go head-to-head.
Predictions!! Edit: I included my thoughts!! Yay!!
Mixed I
GC- Franklin Central "FC Singers" (BV) Franklin Central won at Franklin Community, so i think they'll do well here.
1RU- Plainfield "Belles et Beaux" I haven't seen plainfield this year, but i think that they will have a more experienced group since they added their intermediate mixed group.
2RU- North Central "Counterpoints" (BC) (BB) North Central does really well at the end of their season, but i think their weaker right now since they haven't had enough rehearsal time.
3RU- Whiteland "Rhythm Masters" Whiteland is definitely going to bring it at this competition. I think that this choir will do well.
Mixed II

1RU- New Castle "Red Hot Blues" (BC)
2RU- Franklin Central "Encores" (BV)
3RU- Twin Lakes "Sound Wave"

1RU- Franklin Central "High Voltage" (BV)

GC: Franklin Central ”F.C. Singers”(BV,BC) (I have had the privlage of seeing FC’s show Twice this year. Once at Franklin Community and the other at Pike. They were magnificent at Fcomm, but you could definitely tell they put in some work because their show had made a huge leap by pike. If they continue to grow at the rate they are, I can see them going undefeated this year.)
1RU: Whiteland ”Rhythm Masters” (Even though they missed finals for the first time in four years at Fcomm, we have to remember that Whiteland is a vocal powerhouse. They missed finals at arguably one of the hardest Comps of the year, and were the first out of finals by a very small margin. Also after talking to members in the group, it sounds like they have completely revamped their show and I’m excited to see what they have done)
2RU: Plainfield “Belles Et Beaux” (In all honesty they are the best they have ever been vocally. Their first half of their show is outstanding and they have had three weeks to improve since fishers.)
3RU: North Central “Counterpoints” (BB) (The show this year threw me for a loop because it is not the usual type of show that counterpoints is known for. Also after watching them at Plainfield I was impresssed at moments by their vocals but i think they are missing that “WOW” moment that can push them past everybody else)
The season is still young and all groups have had at least a week to improve their shows since their last outing, this competition is going to be one to keep your eyes on.
