Correct! The groups are just organized into a morning, afternoon and evening session. It is not organized by skill level or choir type. This is a festival style contest where groups receive either a Gold, Silver or Bronze rating based off of the amount of points they receive on their ballot.
Alright the schedule for this middle school contest is now posted. There's three separate sessions - a morning, afternoon, and evening session each with their own set of awards. It doesn't really appear that the sessions are split up by skill level or choir type... I think it's just split up since there's 24 (!) total middle school choirs attending. As a result, we have it listed Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III, but unless a friend from Nebraska can clarify it's just organized on here in order as the morning, afternoon, and evening sessions respectively. Lastly, the awards ceremony is not for choir placement but rather ratings and various caption awards. Beyond that, I'm not super familiar with these middle school groups or this contest so other folks can feel free to chime in!
