Recently I've been really confused by ISSMA.
1. Why were the Franklin Central "Encores" able to compete tier 2 here when they had to change to open class at a different competition because of their school size?
2. Why was the tie broken at East Noble yet the tie was kept between Noblesville and Brownsburg at state last year and between Homestead and Churubusco at Dekalb last year?
It just seems that there are so many inconsistencies between ISSMA competitions recently. And to my understanding all of these competitions are essentially supposed to be the same because of ISSMA regulations, at least that is how it is for the other events ISSMA hosts in Indiana for Marching Band and Winter Guard. I feel like these inconsistencies need to be talked about with all the discussion about State this year.
It's not so busy of a weekend this time around, but we do appreciate when y'all give a rundown of prelims and finals awards ceremonies, because it does help!
We will be live streaming both Friday and Saturday! Here is the link, hope everyone gets a chance to watch these amazing groups tonight and tomorrow http://www.bcsc.tv/
Hello everyone! There seems to be a lot of confusion, so hopefully this clears some things up...there was a comment below that our Friday contest was canceled and that is incorrect. Friday night features small school and festival show choirs. Saturday features a separate small school division as well as our large school division. Due to construction of our auditorium we moved to two nights for this year only. Due to a large enrollment of small schools, we created a separate Saturday contest to accommodate everyone, and those who registered first were given the option of which night they preferred. I will add the Friday schedule here soon, and our judges are Jena Adrianson and Pat Wiehe for vocals, Kenny Shepherd for Friday and Saturday visuals, Chantz Gould for Friday visuals, and Brooke Smolder for Saturday visuals. Hope to see many of you at our contest this Friday and Saturday!
Thanks for sharing. We definitely appreciate it. In addition to sharing those schedules, could you clarify the three middle school groups for me and what division they're competing in?
Definitely! The 3 middle school groups are in their own division, but they are split in the schedule based on Single-Gender and mixed. Since all groups are eligible for finals, Paul Hadley's middle school girl's group performs with the other high school Single-Gender choirs, and the same for Carmel and Paul Hadley's mixed middle school choirs.
