Question for those that saw the prelims and the finals: Was there a huge difference in performances from the prelims to the finals for North Central and Westside? The reason I ask is that although most of the judges were pretty consistent from prelims to finals (with placements within a spot or 2 from day-to-night), one judge had HUGE differences, especially with those 2 groups. I’m curious about what that judge saw that took North Central’s day show from 6th place in the day to 1st place at night. Same with Westside.... 5th to 2nd. Thoughts?
North Central went really early in the day for prelims and I’m guessing the judge didn’t mean to mark them 6th place, but the way the numbers came out they ended up 6th.
That's an excellent question. Same judge flip flopped Homewood from Prelims to Finals. Homewood dancer lost a skirt and had trouble getting in back on in finals which could account for the flip flop. However, the boy's number was stronger in the finals and the entire show cleaner, so who knows.
North Central had a great show in Prelims and Finals. I'm not sure there was a vast difference between the two. I did hear "something" about North Central's performance that the judges did not like. I won't repeat it here however, since i can't corroborate it.
Interesting to see the difference in opinions on Kennedy between Fehr and the rest of the panel. Also the averaged .7 difference in visuals among the top 4.
It is so extraordinary how amazing they are considering they start rehearsals 2nd semester. This was a well deserved win for the counterpoints, they were fabulous.
I literally said this at the beginning of the season when predictions were first coming out on here! It probably doesn't help that this is the first time NC has competed outside of Indianapolis in like 9 years... I enjoyed the video of y'alls set and it looked like a fantastic show. Congrats.
Congrats to Fairfield Choraliers amazing tech crew who also won best crew in the finals. This group has 4 choirs which at some competitions has meant that they have had to assist at 7 shows. You all rock!
So I believe they average or weight here, so there are decimal points. So it may be 10.something or 9.high-something. It’s right around 10. If I had to guess I would say it’s North Central’s to lose. I’ve seen North Central many times over the years and they brought that classic NC swagger today.
Seriously, it was such a great day filled with insanely talented choirs. I am really not kidding when I say that there were NO bad choirs. All of my parents were so surprised and pleased at the amazing, interesting, unique shows! Congrats to everyone on phenomenal performances you should be very proud of!
