Can't the same argument be made for SHOW choir? .

I have seen groups sing WONDERFULLY but have nothing more than Jazz Squares in their show. I've also seen groups sing terribly with INCREDIBLE choreography all around (execution, cleanliness, style, everything). It's about the overall package.

Think about it this way.

Let's say a score sheet is set up like this:

Vocals: 60
Choreography: 40

Vocals are given the major role in deciding who wins, but choreography plays a part too. That's why show choir is what it is! You have to be able to do both, and do both well.

Group A: 59/60 Vocals
30/40 Choreography

If "Group B" is pretty solid all around, then they could win.

Group B: 55/60 Vocals
35/40 Choreography

Group A: 89/100, Group B: 90/100.

Group B Wins .

Ok, I'm really getting tired of seeing groups that win best vocals get second place...I'm sorry but it is show CHOIR... the group that sounds the best should have a higher advantage. I know judges probably just overall "liked" the show of the group that wins best choreo because they are big and awesome, but what happened to the CHOIR part of show choir..? I don't know what Piqua, or Solon's show was, but from results if a group wins best vocals why don't they get GC. I don't get it.

I couldn't put it any better.. congratulations to everybody. Our Twinsburg hosts were wonderful, as were the students from competing schools. I loved hanging out with 'em all!

You can be ahead in vocals by 1 point, and then lose by 2 points to the group with best choreography. Its not that there isn't an emphises on vocals, just the other choir was up to par with vocals and better executed choreo/other aspects of the SHOW part of show choir.

The finals were not scored or judged during finals the judges requested to do a rank scoring. Which was odd. Haha
