Well, what can I say? I had a good weekend all-in-all. I loved watching all the show choirs! I got to see JB from Pleasant Hill finally, and Kate from Rock Bridge and we hung out all day long. Those to are great! But anyways, congrats to everyone who competed and I was impressed by a lot of show choirs. I was a little upset though that we didn't do as well as we thought...but after I saw what we rated so badly in, I understand why we didn't do so hot. I was a little upset, but not because I was mad that we didn't beat a particular group or anything, it's just that it's my senior year, and I want to do good. So no hard feelings to anyone....and thanks to the guy (from Ill.) who commented on Nevada Sounds doing good. I would have to agree with all the comments you made. Well, latta!~Ash

Ok. I'm gonna play the "good cop" now.

You guys need to stop the bashing of a-choir-that-shall-not-be-named...they don't have anyone to defend them on showchoir.com....and if they did, imagine how mortified they would be if they saw what you all are posting.

It's not their fault that show choir isn't popular at their school; many schools (including all three/four of ours) throughout the nation struggle with that. I feel like they work as hard as they can with the opportunities handed to them.

In the past, their set has always been great, their choreography has sometimes been amazing (the plane year, the orange suits, the cages...I was impressed). Just because their director obviously doesn't pick good "show choir" songs and does not stress vocals does not give us a right to blatantly make fun of them. From what I remember of them, they seem to have fun on and off stage, and that's all that really matters.

There. Got that off my chest. Now, back to the discussion of Rockbridge (not JC).

I know im really behind and I havent been on the website lately. My comments about Jeff city were not to "bash" them. I know a few people personally from there in that show choir and they said that they are there to have fun and to not to necessarily win trophies but to break the monotony of show choir. They are original and I ENJOY watching them. They have VERY talented singers there, as we can tell by there soloists, and when I said "poor" I meant everyone thinks of them as a joke. I guess I need to word things differently or explain myself more in-depth. I would hate to be a bad cop. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Yes I will agree with what most of the people are saying, everyone did such an amazing job! Although I was a little dissapointed in how some choirs acted..they need to have better sportsmanship. Keep up the good work everyone!

:Dwow i had a BLAST yesterday... didnt get to see much of the other groups tho because i didnt get there till right b4 we went on for finals cause i had all district jazz band.. which by the way was kinda boring. but performing was so fun. pretty upset that we lost to hillside AGAIN... haha. but i guess u guys are just awesome this year... thats the talk around even tho i STILL havent seen it. but its cool we go against each other like 3 more times i think this year. and its ok because its a friendly rivalry (at least i think so)haha. cant wait for battle of the best next weekend.

????

I had such a great day!!! Here's my quick take on it all.

P-HILL: you guys rocked -- I LOVE LOVE LOVE your show --- i had heard so much about it that I thought it might be a let down to actually see it but it was even better than i imagined. BEst costumes by FAR!! love all the variety and the color scheme --- I thought your opener was fantastic -- your ballad was just okay to me, but hey what do i know. Novelty was the best I've ever seen --- that was AWESOME. Closer --- so FUN!! The car was too cool, the costumes and all the lights --- WOW is all I can say. I have to admit, you guys were MUCH better in finals than during the day, but I loved you both times.

SMITH-COTTON: WOW! what a in your face energetic performance you gave. Great energy and that combo was friggin amazing!! I would have had you down to win BEST COMBO for sure --- third best costumes of the day --- loved the opening black dress and red coat. awesome!! Not a lot of variety in the show though -- every number is kinda "in your face" style. Not the best singers " border="0" alt="ermm.gif" /> , but probably the most energetic and pumped up visually i have ever seen from you guys -- I loved watching you.

PARKWAY: Awesome vocals (as ALWAYS) loved that ballad --- thought you guys were better at night too. Im not a fan of your style of show choir but you do it really well. Congrats -- your such a classy group. oh and PS I have a crush on the tall light skinned black guy in the front -- he is SOOO cute! blushing.gif

NEVADA: WOW -- I was so happy to finally see you guys in person -- again I had heard so much about you I was afraid i might be disappointed, but you were really my second favorite show. LOVED the costuming -- the backdrop -- normally I hate theme shows but somehow yours really worked -- It wasnt so themed that it was in your face but very well put together. LOVED the ballad soloist -- awesome job. Zoot Suit Rocked!!!

LADUE: never heard of you before --- more like parkway central in style -- I liked your show -- not realy sure how you beat out others to get to finals but hey -- I guess thats why Im not a judge

WARRENSBURG: never had seen you wither -- great job ---

well im off to bed --- got to drive back up to college in the AM -- pinch.gif

CONGRATS to ALL --- it was a GREAT DAY OF SHOW CHOIR!!!!!

Gladly. I just made a call to make sure that it was okay...just in case. I wouldn't want to start a choir-revolt.

Nevada is doing the following show:

I. "Welcome to the Night" from the musical The Sweet Smell of Success
featured soloist: Matt Kennedy
II. "Use What You Got" from the musical The Life
featured soloist: Elisha Ellis
III. "New York State of Mind" by Billy Joel
featured soloist: Scott Hillier
IV. "Dirt" from the musical The Sweet Smell of Success
V. "Zoot Suit Riot" by Cherry Poppin' Daddies
I hope everyone has a great time. We're getting to school on Saturday morning at 3:30am - so that ought to be really fun. Dress rehearsal tonight!

We'll see you all in less than two days. Good luck.

THAT SOUNDS AWESOME!!!!!! I LOVE THAT YOU ARE DOING DIRT!!!! I LOVE THAT SONG!!!! I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WOULD MAKE A GREAT SHOW CHOIR SONG!!! AND BILLY JOEL? I LOVE IT ALREADY!!!!
