Announcing placements in every class after prelims is more common at southern competitions. Odds are, the top 3 large mixed groups are going to make finals. What is the point of announcing where each of those groups place during prelims? As I director, I may want my students to know where they placed during prelims, or sometimes I may not want them to know. After prelims, the directors received a break down of scores, but it was up to them if they wanted to share that info with their students.
I liked this!

Does anyone know why they didn't announce 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for large division? It just seemed a little weird.

Purvis used smoke machines for their Gotham City set. The fire alarm went off during the ballad, and they ended up performing the rest of their show with the fire alarm going off. They did an admirable job in spite of that. The alarm kind of almost went with their theme actually (at first, I thought it was part of the show).

Do you know if they are still having Finals with so few groups? And if so, do you have the schedule for Finals?
Yes there will be finals! But I don't know the exact times for each finals performance.
