I've been oh so close (but yet, so far) on a couple of predictions already this year. Early in the year the predictions are so random that I can't take credit
I heard that this competition was very close! In the day round, Buffalo Grove was up by 1 point in vocals in front of Prairie and Prairie was up by 1 point in choreography in front of Buffalo Grove. Then at night I heard BG got 3 first place votes and Prairie got 2. Anyway, I'm an extremely proud alum of Prairie and I know they're gonna have a great season! Congrats to Buffalo Grove on the win, I'm sure you guys were awesome like always (your 2014 show will always hold a place in my heart). I wish I could've been there to see it all go down!
If anyone has performance order for finals or daytime results let us know! The finalists are posted and Westside's women's group won the afternoon showcase.
Best of luck to Prairie as they compete down there in Kansas City this weekend! I wish I could be there but that's a lot of gas money and travel time.....anyway, predictions....
GC: Buffalo Grove (BV, BB)
1RU: Prairie (BC)
2RU: Keokuk
3RU: Davenport West
4RU: Neosho
I saw Prairie at their competition this past weekend, and unbiasedly thought that their visuals were so sharp, clean, and fun to watch. Now biasedly, I think they could win here. It will come down to the vocal scores in my opinion, but we shall see! Good luck to all who are competing!
Best wishes from everyone in Pella to the great kids at Keokuk and Central Lee as they compete at Heart of America this weekend. I'm sure Mr. McGraw, Mr. Woodley and all of their students will represent all that makes Iowa great during their experiences in Kansas City. Can't wait to hear all about it!

Agreed. Maybe they wanted to give the championship choirs more of a break between prelims and finals?
For me as a performer, the biggest difference would be audience size/excitement. Early audiences tend to be smaller and less excited. It's nice that the open class groups will get a bigger audience to perform for than they are used to getting, most likely. I wonder how a smaller audience will affect the performances of the Championship groups in the morning.
