So I still have friends in both of these top groups, and of course was happy to watch them all perform via the live stream! Glad I had this opportunity to watch. Both groups are in store for what should be incredible years.
I have to take a moment to say that Shawn Miller and Tyler Skidmore are two of the absolute kindest directors I ever interacted with while in show choir, and after graduating. These two men care so much not only about putting together amazing groups and shows, but they also do their best to make sure they have nice kids who have nothing but respect for everyone. It's refreshing to see these kinds of groups amid all of the competition we see.
I'm very excited for Medina getting a GC for the first time in so long, especially in such a great competition. It's rare you see kids show so much emotion. I hope I get to see them live this year! Congrats to EVERY group yesterday, you should all be proud. I know I went into these two groups a bit, but I really enjoyed watching this competition the most of the three I saw yesterday
This is slightly delayed due to updating results and such... but Loveland's opener. YAS. Everything about it. Totally agree with Alex's comment. Excellent show!
So I just got home from Beavercreek and was lucky enough to catch a few amazing groups. I only have a couple of notes, so this shouldn't take long.
Medina - Your opening soloists are ridiculous. SO GOOD. All of you left your hearts on that stage. I love the ballad, and can't wait to see how you all progress as the season moves along. You all should be so proud!
Marion Harding - Fun theme! Both Wonka and Charlie have fantastic voices, and you're a great example of an up and coming group that really knows how to showcase your talent on that stage! I look forward to seeing you all again in the coming weeks
Loveland - Slay. I honestly don't know what to say. I went into this show knowing NOTHING about your show (which has never happened before) and I was so anxious to find out what was in store. The amount of words you had to spit out in your opener is unreal, and of course you easily pulled it off. Tim Kim and Lauren Hole: You shouldn't be high school soloists. You should be professionals. Unreal. I'm bummed that I won't get to see you at Marysville this year, but I'm even more bummed that I'll be competing against you all at Marion Harding. Props, guys. Can't wait to see you again.
And according to the picture of the posted schedule I was sent, awards are scheduled for twelve and then it was just question marks drawn in the minute spot.
