i thought
Teays Valley - i knew of the TV reputation as well, this was my first viewing of them and it was fantastic, i would like to be able to compete with them, i don't know what the opener was but it was exactly what an opener needs to be, and the costumes and creativity was unique and really made the visuals pop

It is called Alive by Meat Loaf

i thought
Findlay - just epitomized a professional show, i have never seen them live before this, knew their reputation and was not dissapointed, one of my favorite vocal powerhouses i've ever heard
Dekalb - is my favorite, they were fantastic to host, great group, i am always in love with their song selection, and its my favorite choreography year after year, this is the choir who's songs i write in my cell and google after the comp.

Luers - most entertaining show i think i have ever seen, beautiful vocals, and the comedy of the novelty number deserved your mid show standing ovation, congrats
East Noble - always a wonderful group to watch and just be at a comp. with, they have fun doing what they do, and am always happy to see they try new things other groups would be afraid to, really refreshing

can't wait for this year to get going!

all i can say is that this competition was not the most important competition of the year. it was one of the first ones and many choirs dont even have their full show finished. i agree with jorge. fairfield 2010 will be the "battle royale" of the season. as for the controversy over teays and luers.

It was a very well-run competition, and if this is the first effort Dwenger has put into a competition, I can't wait to see how awesome its going to be once they're pros at it. Everything was well-run and I had a great time.

Also, I was really glad I was able to see Luer's and Findlay's shows because I'm almost certain I won't get another chance to this year. They were both great...Luers had me cracking up.

If this is the kind of lineup Dwenger can pull their first time through, I can't wait to see what things will look like in just a few years.

My only complaint was food prices, which were a tad exorbitant, but a school's gotta make money. It was a small price to pay for the experience.

Most important competition of the year!?! HA! That would be Fairfield 2010. This wasn't even close.

No, I wasn't there. I decided to choose going to Southmont (in 3 weeks) instead of Dwenger. I didn't say I disagreed with your opinion (I have no opinion on the matter)... I just disagree with the manner you are presenting it.

I enjoyed the competition. It was good for the first time. I would reccomend cutting down the time that it takes to get results in. As a spectator I felt like I waited FOREVER. Other than that I was pleased.

lol you weren't at Great River 05, then....

I'm in a middle school show choir (my school is actually just across the street from Dwenger) and I was there all day and had an AMAZING time. I'm probably going to be in show choir at Northrop next year, and I have to talk Mr. Maupin into taking us, because it was the funnest contest I have been to in a long time. And, Kevdog, I actually enjoyed how long it took in between because they were playing music from Glee on the speakers, and my best friend and I were sitting there, singing our hearts out! Some parents from Findlay were sitting by us, and they looked at us like we were ker-azy, but who cares? Congratulations to everyone who went and to Dwenger for having a great first year contest!

For clarification purposes:

2 of the judges had Teays Valley vocally higher than Luers. The judges decided that Teays Valley should then receive third place.

We had a fantastic day yesterday and I truly hope those of you who had a fabulous time will let everyone in the show choir world know about it.

luers and teays tied in scores, both overall and vocals, and the judges picked teays over luers.
