Ahhhh good call on Ben Eklund having Xavier 4th. I missed that one (was mostly focusing on our rankings lol)
And Tanner, yes Shawndell has now won 5 Best Male Soloist awards at Kennedy (he did not have a solo at Kennedy his freshman year in Celebration). Let's make it 6 next year!!!!!
Best female soloist is Jessica Martens, not Martin
And the best male soloist is Shawndell Young (who is very very talented btw)
Thanks for the clarity. My only source is my family and they tend to miss a few (a lot of) details

Serious question how many times has shawndel won this award at RTR?! I seriously feel like it's 5 or more cause he won every year in middle school right?!
This competition was incredibly close all day! Washington was 2nd in points in prelims (by 4 and 10 points respectively over Urby and Valley) but 4th when points were converted to rankings. Valley and Ankeny Centennial ended up tying for best vocals in finals and Valley won based on the tiebreaker of overall vocal points (by 1 point). I know Washington was 2nd in choreography at night.
I know in finals Centennial had placings of 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2 from judges. Washington had 2, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4, 5. I'm pretty sure Xavier had 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6 as their rankings. Valley prep 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6. I don't really remember Valley or Urbandale's placings, sorry.
CR Washington's prep band was technically the highest scoring band of the day (but the judge could've started over with her points in varsity, I don't know).
This was such a close competition. Well hosted, as always. I couldn't go halfway down a hallway without seeing 2 or 3 people that I knew that I hadn't seen yet!!! Crazy.
*edit* go look at Mr. Temple's post

Your predictions were almost perfect!
I know! I think that this has been the closest I've been to perfect on my predictions so it's a personal win for me today!
Congratulations to all groups! I really wish I could've came to see see this cause I haven't been able to see like ANY of the Des Moines area schools this year
This is a great lineup! If I wasn't competing tomorrow there would be a 100% chance of me coming to this.
Predictions:
GC: Ankeny Centennial (BV BC)
1RU: Valley
2RU: Urbandale
3RU: Washington (BB)
4RU: Xavier
5RU: Valley Prep
This is gonna be a really close one and I can see that middle tier of Urbandale, Washington, and Valley going a lot of different ways. Best of luck to everyone tomorrow!
A long, exhausting, day of incredible show choir. Congrats to Ankeny Centennial on your Grand Championship, and to everyone else for incredible performances for which you should be incredibly proud!
Ankeny Centennial Spectrum just burned the entire building down. We should all go home where it's safe and sleep...but...wait...oh no...then we will all have nightmares about them. I'm afraid of the dark now. NOWHERE IS SAFE FROM SPECTRUM.
